DUBAI – Emirates has introduced a new flexible payment solution for customers in India, allowing travellers to spread the cost of their flights through Equated Monthly Instalments (EMI).

The new facility enables passengers to book tickets across the airline's global network without paying the full fare upfront. The move is aimed at making international travel more accessible through convenient repayment options.

Available immediately, customers booking on emirates.com can purchase tickets to nearly 140 destinations across the Emirates network and divide the total cost into monthly instalments ranging from three to 36 months.

Payment plans

Passengers can select the EMI option while paying with an eligible credit card. The programme is supported by 12 participating banks: AXIS Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank.

Mohammad Sarhan, Emirates' Vice President for India and Nepal, said the airline was pleased to introduce flexible payment solutions for customers in India, making worldwide travel more accessible through convenient payment options.

He said the initiative allows customers to choose a repayment plan that best suits their financial needs while benefiting from a wide choice of participating banking partners.

Banking partners

Sarhan described the new payment option as a significant addition for travellers, saying it would help customers book long-awaited holidays or upgrade their travel experience while spreading the cost through manageable monthly instalments that fit their budgets.

The EMI payment facility is currently available to eligible credit card holders from the 12 partner banks. Emirates said terms and conditions differ by financial institution, including eligibility requirements, processing fees, applicable interest rates and processing times. Customers will be responsible for any charges associated with instalment payments based on their selected bank.
